Golfing Guidelines

Welcome to Pretty Lake Golf Club.

As a patron of our wonderful facility we are sure you have many questions about our club.

Please take a few moments to review the following topics so that you may better enjoy our club and its amenities.

Dress Code

All golfers must wear proper golf attire while on the golf course.

Male golfers must wear collared shirts and no denim.

Mock turtlenecks are acceptable.

Female golfers can wear tops without a collar, but no tank tops and no denim of any kind.

Driving Range and Practice Facilities

When our club was built practice was not popular.

In fact, what is called a range today was a warmup field back then.

DANGER AREAS are #10 fairway and #15 left hand rough.

Please wait until these areas are clear before hitting and keep all your shots inside the confines of the driving range.

We also have a short game area complete with practice green and bunker located on the west end of the practice facility.

When going to the practice facilities please use be considerate of those teeing off #10 and make sure the tee is clear before crossing in front of it.

Golf Cart Usage

Please keep your cart at least thirty (30) feet from all tees and greens and stay on the cart paths when presented.

We ask that you return the cart to the cart staging area when you are finished.

You must have a valid driver’s permit to operate a golf cart.

Golf Course Care

Our course is manicured meticulously.

To maintain our standards please observe the following:

Fix your ball mark and one other, replace your divot, rake bunkers, pick up trash and broken tees and deposit into trash baskets.

On the green please remember to remove and replace the flagstick with care.

Pace of Play

Pace of play is an especially important at Pretty Lake Golf Club.

We pride ourselves on maintaining an acceptable time to complete a round.

A round of golf should be played in no more than 4 hours.

Failure to do so will cause consternation to your fellow golfers playing behind you.

Please remember to allow faster groups to play through and avoid extra time at the turn.

Your place on the golf course is not directly in front of the group behind you.

It is directly behind the group in front of you.

Groups of more than four (4) players are not allowed unless specifically approved by the Head Golf Professional

Personal Behavior

Golf is a ladies and gentlemen’s game.

It is unbecoming a golfer to act in any other way.

We expect all patrons to use proper decorum while on our grounds.

Please avoid confrontations, be courteous and considerate of others while using your phone and use our restrooms when needed.

Rest Rooms

Members rest rooms are in the Clubhouse while public rest rooms are in the 1st Tee of Michiana building located near the #10 tee.

Other

In accordance with Indiana state laws, all alcohol must be purchased from Pretty Lake Golf Club.

Outside alcoholic beverages may not be brought on to the premises.

Thank you in advance for reviewing these key golf topics.
